THE "Prometheus - Fire - Man" CALL
According to the mythology of ancient Greeks, Prometheus, the son of Titan Iapetus, after he created man from clay, he wanted to help man to his fight against the elements of the nature. Therefore, he stole the fire from the Olympian Gods and he delivered it to the people, an act that made Zeus furious. The father of Gods, in order to take his revenge from him, gave Ifestos (Vulcan) the order to enchain Prometheus to a rock of Caucasus, where an eagle, seated on his knees, was eating his liver. Hercules saved him from this torture, while passing from Skithia, on his way to the land of Esperides, when he saw him suffering and disregarding the threats of Zeus, he freed him after he killed with his bow the carnivore Bird. Prometheus, challenging and fighting with Gods, he opened the way for the conquest of nature from man and in this sense he is, fairly, regarded as the father of contemporary technological civilization.

Since 1991, Professor Papadimitriou and his wife host in the yard of their traditional house, in the village of Gonnoi, (Larissa), which is located near the mountain of Olympus, in the province of Thessaly in Greece, Greek painters as well as painters from all over the world in a week-long art exhibition. The intention of Papadimitriou when starting these annual exhibitions was, primary, to make people living in the countryside more familiar with modern artworks, a movement aiming against the centralization of cultural life in the big cities, a phenomenon which characterizes our times. The exhibition takes place every year, in the beginning of July and it has become a well-known art institution, visited from thousands of people from all over Greece and other places.

THE "Works on Paper" CALL
Flux Factory is putting out a call to artists to submit works for a benefit exhibition titled 'Works on Paper'. The exhibition will run for one week in Spring 2006 and will feature works on paper by emerging artists and sell them to a wide audience of dealers, collectors, gallery owners, artists and people who want art at extremely reasonable prices.
Flux Factory is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit arts organization housed in Long Island City, Queens, NY. We are having this exhibition to raise money for our 2006 exhibition budget. As an all-volunteer not-for-profit, we understand the difficulties of exhibiting art in today's commercially saturated market. In a climate where galleries often lean towards strictly commercially viable work, we are turning to the artists we yearn to support to now help us by donating work to fund our 2006 season.

THE "THE TREE of POETRY" CALL
The Tree of Poetry is a very uncommon species of plant; it is an American Maple, which is in Venezia-Mestre in 83/B Cavallotti Street, ITINERARI 80 Centre. Giancarlo Da Lio, inventor of ITINERARI 80 too, dedicated this Tree to Poetry in a lot of artistic Performances.
The Tree strikes its roots into the soil, but branches toward the light of the Sun: to be and to become.
Below its fronds sheets with verses in plastic envelopes, to preserve from rain, hung down. The poets read their lines in the shade of the Tree. And painters and sculptors put their works on walls and grass.
ITINERARI 80 is an artistic movement; from different trends many excellent artists gather strength around Giancarlo Da Lio. Moreover, as well as they work, they must manage their work making use of everything and everywhere.
Well, it is necessary to show works not only in the official galleries, but above all in the alternative art spaces: where people go and come, on the road, in the shops, in the gardens too: so the tree of Poetry was born and is growing.
